American Association
of Nurse Anesthetists
The American
Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) is our national
professional organization, of which more than 96 percent of all CRNAs
are members. Founded in 1931, AANA is the professional association representing
CRNAs nationwide with over 27,000 members.
The AANA is dedicated to:
- Promoting continual high
quality patient care.
- Advancing the science and
art of anesthesia.
- Developing and promoting
high educational standards in the field of Nurse Anesthesia.
- Developing and promoting
standards of practice in the field of Nurse Anesthesia.
- Facilitating effective cooperation
between CRNAs, nurses, physicians, hospitals and agencies representing
a community of interest in Nurse Anesthesia.
- Publishing scientific journals,
bulletins and other publications pertinent to the objectives of AANA.
- Maintaining informational
and statistical data for reference and assistance in matters pertaining
to the profession or its practice.
- Providing opportunities
for continuing education.
